The time differs with respect to the size of the calculus or the stone. Sometimes if the calculus is too large, it will take around 10 to 15 hours to pass it.

Kidney stones take from one to four weeks to pass through the urinary tract from the time that symptoms (such as back pain, nausea, blood or pain when urinating)first appear.

It could be anywhere from hours to weeks. With proper treatment, you can stay comfortable as you wait for it to pass. When a stone travels through a ureter, it may cause no pain. Or it may cause great pain and other symptoms.
