There are 187,097 retail location selling motor fuel in u. s. These locations sell 344,765. 9 gallons of gasoline and 85081. 8 gallons of low sulfur diesel fuel per day.

If there are 187,000 stations and they sell 344,000 galloms a day that is less than two gallons per station per day on gas and about half a gallon of deisel. pretty sure these numbers are wrong.  add a comment

The last census indicated that there are between 120 to 140 thousand gas stations across our nation. There could be more since the last census was a few years ago.
