On any standard piano or keyboard, there are 88 keys present. There will be thirty three black keys, and fifty six white keys. Some modified piano's and keyboards may have 72 or 64 keys, to fit that of the player and the type of music they play. But the standard acoustic pianos have the 88 keys.

A standard piano has 88 keys. Some piano keyboards happen to have about 30 or more keys. It is possible to have a piano that only has 12 keys, but that piano would be quite small and not considered standard.

Usually, traditionally, 88 keys, 36 black keys and 52 white keys covering seven octaves and a minor third, although there are variations. Some older pianos only have 85 keys, and the Boesendorfer piano company from Hammond Indiana produces a 96-key version. The extra keys have a little wooden lid to cover them up to avoid disorienting unsuspecting pianists. (True! )

Standard pianos have 88 keys. The Bosendorfer piano is a grand that has nine extra keys. Victor Borge, a musician and comedian, used a Bosendorfer. Many electronic keyboards have fewer.
