It depends on how you pack them. As a web professional, I have had to travel before with three or four different computers - including a large laptop, smaller laptop and netbook. The larger computers I typically pack in my suitcase, while the netbook I stow in my carry-on luggage or purse.

In most cases, you are allowed two laptops. At most airports, you will not be stopped if you carry a lot of electronics (many laptops) at the port of departure. However many countries have customs clearance and you might be stopped if you have more than two laptops.

You can bring as many laptops to the airport as will fit into your one carry-on plus one small personal bag. Other than that there is no limit.
