Immediately. It kills the worms quite quickly. While it's working, you should clean your bedding and anywhere else the cat often lays or sleeps, as well as change the cat's litter box. This will prevent the cat from being reinfected by worm eggs.

Usually within a day. If your cat does have worms and they are mature you will start to see worms in the stools within a day or so, and that will continue for a couple of days.
