How should do the decorating on a two story home?

I would find a couple of colors maybe three or four that all go nicly together and paint the walls using those colors, and accent the other colors with pillows and other decorations. Doing alternate coloring with the four colors. I have done that with my 2500 sq. ft. home and it looks great.

It is not necessary to coordinate every room, the main thing you want to consider is that when you have walls that are shared from one room to another you will not want the colors to clash. I would go with things that are appealing to you, colors, and themes.

You can coordinate your home and still decorate the rooms with different colors and things if you choose a main theme that you like. For example, if you like modern style you can choose modern pieces for all of your rooms. Having one solid theme will tie all of your rooms together despite color differences.

Make sure that the colors from the first floor match the palet as the second floor. It doesn't have to be the same colors but at least the same tones.

Once you find flooring you like, then use this as your base for decorating, because wall colors, window treatments, furniture can easily be changed to fit your tastes.

Try to keep only the useful furniture. Keep some flower pot in every room so that it may give you a feel of purity and fragrance. Try to keep out every thing in your cupboard in a good manner,and every decorative item should be neat and clean. Dont try to overload your rooms. Keep some place empty also.
