If possible, take samples of the infestation in a sealed plastic bag to the County Extension office. Someone there can probably help you identify the problem, and based on the kind of tree, suggest a solution. You can also get information from a reputable nursery where the staff is experienced and knowledgeable.

Any fruit bearing tree is a welcome tree in any home because of its sweetness and edibleness. When a fruit bearing tree is planted it should be inspected for disease and insect infestations. The tree's trunk, branches and stems to be checked first for any attacks. The best way to treat any infestation is use of insecticides or fungicide spray.
