Since BBQs are fun and casual events, make your wording exciting and informal. Be sure to make the invitee feel welcome, and mention if you want him/her to bring something.

It is barbecue time once again! Please join us for an afternoon of great barbecued food and fun on Sunday July 10, 2010 at 2pm at the Lucky's house. Please rsvp at 999-662-4100. Be there or be square!

This is somewhat dependent on the formality of the party. Assuming it's informal, as most BBQ parties are, it's fine to leave it simple. "WHAT: BBQ Party WHERE: (location) WHEN: (date)" Also, if applicable, include a contact number to RSVP and a list of things you want guests to bring.

You are invited to a true Ranch-Style BBQ! Meat and salads will be supplied. Bring your own drinks and any other dish if you wish!

BBQ is informal so your invites should be as such. You want to make sure you include your date and anything that you want people to bring. Example Everyone, I am having a BBQ at my house and your invited. Please show up around 5 and be sure to bring your favorite adult beverage. Yehaw.
