The bites will last 3-10 days, depending on how sensitive you are. Spraying is ineffective; the fleas will be back shortly. Visit your veterinarian about an easy, effective monthly treatment for you cat so that the fleas are eliminated and stay gone.

If you got rid of the fleas they will go away in several days like mosquito bites. You might need to treat the house and cat several times depending on the quality of the treatment you are using before the infestation is actually gone.

The most important thing is to get rid of the fleas so you do not continue to be bitten. As to how long the bites will last, they can be quite stubborn. Use plain alcohol on a cotton ball and apply this several times a day to the affected area. The existing bites will be well in about a week.

Bites can last a week or two if you continue to scratch. Treat your cat with a topical treatment made for CATS ONLY or it may groom itself sick. Wash all bedding, rugs, curtains, etc.. a minimum of two times a week. Vacuum every inch of the house.. floors, beds, furniture, behind appliances etc., everyday and empty vacuum outside.

For your immediate problem of itchiness, take benedryl, or some sort of anti-histimine which will stop the itching. The main thing you need to do is to take Brewer's Yeast tablets, as it makes your blood have a bad taste to the fleas and they will not bite you.

Getting rid of the fleas was the first step. The bite normally last a few days and can be treated the same as a misquito bite. If needed see doctor.
