First copy the necessary driver setup files to your USB flash drive or a removable hard disk. Then double click the setup file to start the installation wizard and give the path and set the driver parameters and options. Then you are done. Same problem exists after this, then there is a hardware problem.

If you are sure the USB devices are functioning properly, Open device manager and delete all entries under USB Controllers. Reboot the machine. Windows will automatically reinstall those.

If the USB isn't installed correctly, take out the USB and put it in again. If it still does not work, then go to another computer to format the USB. IF it's not installed on other computers, the USB is broken.

Sounds like a driver issue. If you have the disc, put it in the computer and pull the drivers off. Otherwise, go online and do a search for them. The other common issue is the driver version in your XP. You can go into the Hardware Manager, select your USB and roll them back to the version that worked.

You might be having an issue with the usb driver. Go to the device manager and update the usb driver and see if this fixes the problem. There may also be a software conflict so see if you installed anything recently that is known to cause this problem.

If you mean you are unable to connect your USB device to your computer, then try to search for the specific drivers of your USB device on the web. Usually companies provide a driver CD along with the device itself, so check if you have it already!

Hardware cannot be installed from an USB. It has to be part of the desktop/laptop. If my desktop/laptop cannot access USB, I should check for USB drivers in my computer.

Try moving the file from your USB to any drive in you computer, preferably on the drive you want the hardware to be installed.

This is a common problem face by computer users. The first thing that you would wanna do it too check that your usb port is clean, dust free. if there is any dust in there, use a small tooth bush or tooth pick to remove it. Try it now again, hopefully it will work.
