I just found out I'm pregnant, and I have a head cold.... good or bad?

I just found out I'm pregnant (4wks today) and my doctor has me on Prometrium due to previous miscarriages. I'm scared out of my mind that something might be wrong.

Definately check with your doctor to find out what medications are safe for you AND baby before taking anything over the counter. Also, nasal inflammation is common in pregnant women, so it may be another way that your body is adjusting to the pregnancy.

Please try to take it easy. Relax and know that many women have a head cold in early pregnancy with no ill effects. Contact your OB/GYN for peace of mind.

A minor head cold will probably not affect your pregnancy at all. The important things to do right now are to get lots of rest and lots of fluid. Try to relax and not worry, as hard as that is. Good luck with everything! I hope you feel better soon.

having a cold at any time isn't good and isn't fun but before you take anything, contact your doctor. you don't want to take anything that may harm the baby.
