Don't leave your pet alone at home. Although rabbits are not rodents, they like to nibble things. Your rabbit may have eaten something poisonous, choked from something, or it could have knawed an electric cable. Check your electronics and make your home rabbit-safe for the future. Else, if it was in its cage, it may have had a disease.

There could be a number of reasons. Was your rabbit going to the bathroom like it is supposed to? Did it show any signs of sickness? Did you feed it something that wasn't rabbit food? The food might have had insecticide in it, or it just suffered a heart attack.

Your rabbit probably died for reasons other than starvation or dehydration. Like all animals rabbits store fat and will take days to starve.
