If the top of an evergreen tree snaps off in a storm, will the tree eventually grow back to the original shape?

No, it won't. In these cases, the tree cannot regenerate limbs or regrow the top. However, this shouldn't affect the overall health of the tree. These trees can live for hundreds of years, and they by necessity will weather many storms during that time.

Generally, once an evergreen has been topped, it will not grow any taller. However, sometimes a branch or two at the top will bow upwards and continue growing, or you can train a branch to do this. Although the tree will not have the original shape, over time as the tree grows, the difference will become less noticible.
