If you want to build muscle, you should do your strength training before you go running. This will giv eyou the most energy with which to do your workout. Don't do strength training cold, though- you could injure yourself. Instead, run on the spot for about 20 seconds before your workout to warm up.

It depends on your overall goal. If you are looking for maximum strength, then you should run after you lift - preferably several hours after. If you are looking to create a bodybuilder physique (muscle hypertrophy), then running before is fine and can warm you up, but running after is best.

I think its a personal preference. For me lifting before weights before running is better because i have more energy for lifting and can preform the exercises with better precision. Some people prefer the opposite because they take longer to warm up and feel they're less likely to get injured.

Use your running as a warm up for your resistance work, then if you have it in you, you can run a little more after your workout as a way to cool down.
