The only proven technology for removing the minerals from "hard" water is salt-based technology. Your best bet would be to check with a plumber who has experience in this area.

There really doesn't seem to be much information available on that particular water softener. While it is good that there aren't people complaining about it, there also seems not to be much praise for the brand.

I think its a little pricey myself, and I can't tell a difference from cheaper water softeners. However, I have at least one friend who absolutely swears by it, so you might want to give it a try. What's the worst that could happen? That's right, absolutely nothing. Its water, who cares?

Precisely the brand Pelican Natursoft as a water softener is a good choice for household purposes in softening water while keeping the healthy characteristic of water. As a water softener system for a house, it would ensure safe drinking water, salt free water that has good effect on clothing and no calcium build up in water spouts, dishes and glasses.

To me, they're all the same. I think the Pelican is too expensive for what it does compared to other models on the market today.
