Heat therapy has many benefits including pain reduction, stiffness reduction, and increased blood flow to the heated area. Increased blood flow will aid muscle tissues in repairing themselves, and the soothing qualities of the heat source will ease the pain of a muscular injury.

Heat therapy is extremely useful for injured tendons. Try a nice soak in the tub or even a dip in the jacuzzi if available.

Yes and no it depends on how deep the injury is as to rather or not you need heat or ice. I split my tendon and I had to use moist heat for the pain it helps blood flow and ice for the swelling.

It is best to use a cold compress on a tendon injury, on for 20 minutes, off for 40 minutes during the first 2 days after the injury and as long as the ice seems to help. Also do gentle range-of-motion exercises and stretching to ease the pain and stiffness.

As long as you are out of the acute phase of healing, then heat therapy can be very helpful with injured tendons. If your injury is still acute using heat can increase inflammation and terefore pain. There are various types of heat hydrotherapy you can look into. Following your heat therapy stretching the injured tendons will also help.

Yes, heat will induce rapid blood flow, because blood carries nutrients and oxygen, it'll help the injured tendons heal and regrow quicker.

yes, most probabely, but not just with plain hot water bag, its different, we use heated turmeric powder soaked in cup of water with 1 tea spoon salt mix with it and its applied on the injured parts and allow to get dry atleast 10 hours to get best results.

Heat injury is used only for the chronic injuries (such as inflammatory or overuse injuries) but not acute (such as traumatic injuries) . It helps in reducing the pain and the stiffness and increasing blood flow to the affected area and this will accelerate the healing .

Yes it is, ONLY if it's not in it's acute stage. NEVER use heat when it is in it's acute stage. Lots of ice and rest when it's in acute. if you chose to use heat, never lay down on the heat, always have someone apply the heat for you and use moist heat. Dry heat can burn

When Dealing with injured tendons it should be noted that heat can be good however only when used in moderation. The heat if used in excess can also cause shock in the tendon not allowing it to heal properly. Rather try a mixture of Cold and Heat.
