Is it a myth that humans swallow spiders in their sleep?

This is actually not a myth at all. We do swallow spiders in our sleep. They are small spiders, not your typical huge spiders. So relax, they are harmless.

Absolutely not. But it's not something you should be concerned about. Spiders, generally daddy-long-legs, like damp, warm areas, and most people sleep with their mouth open. It's not many, a couple in a life time, and it's completely harmless.

no this is not a myth it is a fact that humans swallow parts of spiders in their sleep throughout their lives and the average person in their life time will swallow about eight spiders.

There is NO scientific evidence that this actually happens, because, well, scientists don't study phenomena that don't occur. Swallowing spiders in our sleep is a long-running urban myth with no actual basis in fact. Anyone who tells you otherwise is just repeating the urban myth, not providing evidence.

Yes and No because when one sleeps all their metabollic processes slow down so if one sleeps with thier mouth open they could do it accidently and noy on purpose.

How would I know..I was sleeping. However I collect spiders and when I woke up, most of them were missing.. hmmmmmm?
