I'm fairly sure commercial Jasmine tea is made from Jasmine flowers that are combined with "regular" green tea leaves, but in a special process.

Depends on whether you are using true jasmine or false jasmine. True Jasmine, also known as common jasmine is non-toxic and can be used to make tea. False jasmine, also known as Carolina jasmine, is considered poisonous. Careful because their fragrance is quite similar and they can be mistaken for one another.

It isn't as far as I know the best thing for you to do is talk to either an herbalist or your local greenhouse either one of them should know. Or you can do a web search on it and it will even give you recipes if there are any.

In China the flowers and leaves of the jasmine plant are combined for several hours to produce the oolong base. This process can be repeated for up to seven times for the highest quality. Not only used for teas, jasmine is also used in oils, perfumes, incense, and as a syrup.

Plants in the genus Jasminum are used to make teas, while plants from the genus Gelsemium are highly toxic. Unfortuntely both go by the common name jasmine, so be sure you know which plant you have before making tea from it. If you don't have the plant tag, take a sample to your local nursery to have it identified.
