Is it wise to buy a timeshare?

No. They're notoriously bad investments. You're locked into a commitment that might be hard to sell. Your stuck with expenses and might want to vacation elsewhere but will feel guilty not using it cause you paid for it. Better to rent a week from someone else with a timeshare.

It may be wise, but you need to consider a few things. How much is the initial cost to purchase? How often do you think you would use it? Is it in a location that is convenient to travel to? And lastly, how much are the yearly costs involved? It could be worthwhile or it could be a scam.

No, you would be commiting to pay managment fees and dues as long as you own the property. They are notoriously difficult to sell; you could be stuck for life!

It depends. If you have the funds to invest in a timeshare, get some financial advice from your broker or banker. Only you can decide if a timeshare is a good idea for you and your family.

If you are considering purchasing a timeshare, you need to really calculate whether or not you would use the timeshare enough to make it worth the money you are paying.
