That would depend on what else your cat is doing. Some cats just develop strange behaviors. If you suspect that something is wrong, see a vet. Breathing with her mouth open may mean that something is blocking her nasal passages. She may have allergies that are causing mucous in her nose.

Normally no. Cats will breathe (pant) with their mouth open if they are hot, like a dog. However they also have a scent sensing gland called the Jacobson's organ, which they open their mouth to expose to the air and smells they are following. If your cat does breathe with an open mouth all the time, check with your vet.

Breathing with her mouth open, especially for an extended period of time, is an indication that something isn't right with your cat. Bring her into the vet asap; it could mean asthma, choking or an inability to breathe. Or call your local Animal Emergency Services for immediate advice or to be directed to the nearest cat hospital if need be.

Cats will sometimes breathe with their mouths open if they get overheated - similar to a dog panting. They will also do this if very nervous, but it can also indicate a difficulty in breathing through the nose. Observation will help in determining and a trip to the vet can't hurt either.

My cat yarns with her mouth open. Sometimes she might pant with her mouth open. But cats usually do not breathe with mouth open. So keep an eye on hime.
