That depends on whether what you've seen is a real rabbit. There are large breeds of rabbit (Flemish Giants, for example, which I think are the largest, but not sure) that do exist. They exist in captivity. They were originally bred as meat rabbits, but do equally well as pets.

Giant rabbits are real and are actually a breed called Flemish Giants. The well-known giant bunny on the news lives in England.
