Is there any special way I should behave around some new Italian friends?

They are exchange students here for a year.

The best you can do around your new friends is to be yourself and not try so hard to impress them. You might come off as patronizing otherwise.

No, you should behave normal be a little more tolerant than you usually are because you know they have a different culture and beliefs; but you should be yourself. That way they will get to know the culture and how the american people are better. Just be yourself, be tolerant and helpful.

I think you should just be courteous and do your best to act as you normally do so they can get a real idea of who you are.

No, treat them with courtesy and respect the same as any of your other friends. Be patient about language barriers and cultural differences and you should be fine.
