fruit

Question by  Dinder (22)

Is there anything wrong with eating fruits at night?

I've heard it's not good to eat large amounts of sugars at night, but fruits contain natural sugar. May I eat them at night?

Large amounts of fruits can produce gas and indigestion, making it possibly uncomfortable if they are comsumed at night before bed time. Because of the natural acids that are in many fruits this can also account for heartburn, which also contributes to making it uncomfortable to get a good nights sleep.

I DON'T recall getting gas and or indigestion from eating an entire bunch of bananas, around 5 bananas. I DO recall getting gas and indigestion from eating cooked brussel sprouts.

While fruits do contain natural sugars, they also are bursting with vitamins and fiber, and if you eat the whole fruit, as opposed to fruit with sugared syrup, it can be an excellent, relatively low calorie good snack, whenever you eat it, without ingesting large amounts of sugar.

Natural sugars are far different than processed sugars. If you are worried about staying up or gaining weight there is little to worry about eating some fruit.
