A DUI conviction can interfere with a later endeavor. E. g. , a DUI may be an obstacle in a desire to enlist in the U. S. military. The recruiter can, however, request a DUI Waiver regarding the incident citing, e. g. , that the conviction was ten years earlier and the applicant is in recovery. There is no "waiver" to excuse the charge, however.

The short answer to your question is no, but if you are caught in a DUI situation, you could be asked to sign a waiver. The waiver you are sometimes asked to sign is refusal of council from an attorney. Most attorney's will tell you never to sign any waivers.
