This may depend on what you mean by tracking device. I know that cats can be chipped so they can be identified, much like dogs. I do not know if it can be used to track where they are right now, if they get lost. Your vet may have a better idea of what is on the market.

Yes. A tiny microchip is inserted under the skin in a procedure that takes less than a minute. Should a pet be lost, most vets and shelters have a scanner to read the microchip, which is always placed between the shoulder blades. The chip causes the cat no discomfort.

Sort of ......You can buy a small digital camera, on the internet, that you attach to your cat's collar. You programme it to take a photo every five minutes or so. When the cat comes home you can download the photos onto a computer and see what the cat's been up to.

Yes, but they can be rather expensive. If you are worried about your cat getting lost the cheaper option is to have veterinarian place a microchip on your cat. This is useful if the cat ends up at a shelter, since many shelters will scan for one.

Some pet stores carry collars with GPS tracking devices for dogs, but I have not seen any for cats. Also, cats slip out of collars very easily. I think the closest thing you could do is microchip your pet in the even that it becomes lost.

tracking devices for cats two types of tracking devices for cats are satellite telemetry which will need a gps receiver and vhf telemetry which needs a vhf beacon fixed on a collar and a receiver and antenna. The loCATor Pet Tracking System does not rely on GPS and has a range of 1-2 city blocks.

Some pet owners choose to get chips installed in their cats that can be scanned and looked up on computers if the cat is ever lost. If you lose your cat and someone finds it, the cat can be scanned and your address and contact info will appear on the screen.

There are definitely tracking devices available for your cat. Most vets offer micro-chipping for cats or dogs, usually for a reasonable price. Some vets will even do it for free.

Yes, you can get a microchip equipped with a kind of tracking device, but right now it's very expensive to do, and your vet probably won't do it, so it means a trip too.

If you want to track an indoor cat that has gotten out of your house, use a Cat Flasher. The Cat Flasher is stylish jewelry that activates a bright LED SOS signal when it gets too cold as happens when a cat gets outside.
