This is likely related to allergies. The cat will need to have an allergy test first. If the cat tests positive for anything, then those items need to be removed from their home and diet to the best of your ability. The should lessen the skin irritation and decrease future issues with skin irritation.

There are many causes of skin lesions in cats, from allergies to a hormonal imbalance or a tumor. You should probably take your cat to a vet to be checked out.

Generally, healthy cats heal quickly from skin lesions. However, if you notice any swelling, you should take the cat to a vet before the wound turns septic.

Feel the lesion, if it feels like a bug bite or an inflammation of some kind, it is possibly just a fatty deposit or a bug bite.
