My colonoscopy showed that the entire colon had a melanotic mucosa. What does this mean?

It's not some urgent condition, so you shouldn't worry much about it. In this condition, the mucous of the colon is rich with melanocytic cells, which just imitate melanoma.

The lining of the colon is called "mucosa." Melanin is pigment. Your doctor discovered that the lining of your colon has a lot of melanin, that it is colored/tinted. There are a number of reasons for this; s/he will discuss with you what, if anything, is significant about the condition.

Melanoma is the cancer of the skin. But in some rare cases, it can arise from the mucosa or the mucous membrane of the gastrointestinal tract. It is more aggrasive than skin melanoma. Surgical resection is the first and foremost in the treatment procedure. This is followed by chemotheraphy and radiation theraphy.
