Probably not, but you should keep a close eye on her. Dogs tend to know when a puppy isn't going to survive, so that could be why she ate it.

When the mother of the pups eats her children, it's mainly due to the pup's illness. Unless the others are sick, they will not be eaten by the mother.

She may have eaten the runt because she knew something was wrong with it. But she may eat all the pups while she is in labor you need to keep a close eye on her.

Dogs will often eat small or sick puppies. It is nature's way of removing weak links out of the breeding pool. It is unlikely that the mother dog will eat any other of her puppies, but if you are not sure it is best to remove the puppies from their mother.

That is totally natural. If there is nothing wrong with the other pups you should be fine. Survival of the fittest. If the mother does not beleive the puppy will make it unfortunatly she will take care of that before he has a chance.

I all depends on the individual dog. And if it is her first litter. Alot of times the first litter makes them do odd things. Some dogs will do it to all the puppies Just watch her and if she does it again try to set it up so they can eat but she can't get to them.
