Depends on what kind of infections and a vet should be seen to ensure that it is the right medication so that the infection does not spread and become fatal.

Never give your dog any medications unless it was prescribed by a Vet. The wrong doses or medications could potentially harm your dog.

Urinary tract infections are commonly associated with whelping. A UTI's are caused by a bacterial infection entering the body through the urethra. Clavomox (combination of Amoxicillin and Clavulanate)is often perscribed by a vet for a course of 10-14 days. The clavulanate is an enzyme inhibitor which helps the body absorb the antibiotic.
