If you have changed the water recently could be the reason. One goldfish needs a 10-gallon aquarium to live in comfortably. Sometimes fish get constipated causing them to act strangely.

Your goldfish could be hungry. It could be looking for food. Your fish could be adjusting to a new environment. The goldfish is probably circling in the tank looking weird because it needs to adjust. Everything probably seems different to the fish. In about a week the fish should act normal.

Goldfish often act weird. It could be sick or dying, which they often do for no reason sometimes. If they are swimming upside down or doing flips it often means something is wrong. Some though are born with defective swim bladders which make them do loops or swim upside down and this could be perfectly normal.

Your fish may be getting sick or if you have changed the living environment of the goldfish, it may be reacting to that-e. g water change, temperature change,or feeding changes.
