Make sure to provide your hamster with lots of fresh water to keep it hydrated. Make sure that the bedding is fresh and clean. Provide fresh food in a clean dish. Moniter your hamster every hour to see if the condition gets worse. If it does not clear up in a day, take him to the vet.

You cannot get a proper diagnosis if you do not take your pet to an exotics vet (not an ordinary dog/cat vet) for diagnosis and treatment. If you are not willing to take care of your pets, get a plant instead.

Once you realise that your hamster is sick it is usually too late for home remedies. However, if it is not serious you can research on providing them proper homes and diets. The best thing to do is take your pet to a qualified exotics vet for a checkup - they know best.

Without knowing what the symptoms are, it is very difficult to determine what is wrong with your hamster. I would not recommend trying an 'experimental' treatment at home. There could be one of several things wrong with your hamster, and if you treat it at home it may have fatal effects. Your hamster needs to see the vet.

Most illnesses in a small rodent like a hamster is due to some kind of stress depending on how old the pet is. If the problem is with the hamster's nose, this would be a good indication that it is stress. Treatment would be to not handle him so much and provide some fresh greens and see if he improves.
