It depends on the breed of your snake. Most snakes are not incredibly active to begin with, especially if they are a nocturnal species. If you are concerned, find a vet in your area who treats exotic animals and have him test your snake for parasites, respiratory problems, or other common reptile illnesses.

If temperatures are nominal in the tank, then no. Snakes are ambush predators, and will only cruise around the tank when seeking a different temperature, or if they are hungry.

Some snakes are more active than others. If his behavior has changed, you should be worried. Make sure to check the temperature in your vivarium, too.

Snakes are usually pretty dormant, especially if they are fed frequently. They need to lie still and digest. They usually only move around if they are hungry, and looking for their next meal. No worries!
