It is a sin and you should have him counseled by a priest. He should also perform penance by performing charity.

True Christianity is adamantly against infidelity. It is one of the ten commandments, if that gives you a hint to its importance. The majority of modern Christian males, however, no long want to obey this commandment and will make attempts to find excuses. There are none - Christianity tells us that the unfaithful should actually be stoned to death!

Christians believe that God hates adultery. In Matthew 19, Jesus talks about marriage and in verse 9 says that fonication (including adultery) is the only ground for divorce (so forgiveness is not required, though one may choose to forgive). Adultery is forbidden in the ten commandments.

Forgiveness is one of the hardest things to do, but holding onto grudges hurts you far more than it does them.God expects us to forgive others to gain His forgiveness.

When interpreting Bible literally we can discern that according to Jesus infidelity is the only basis for divorce in view to remarrying. Still in the Sermon on the Mount he also encouraged people to show mercy where possible. For Corinthians Apostle Paul wrote that the love bears ALL THINGS.

Infidelity is a big deal in the Bible, and Jesus preached against it. But more importantly, Jesus requires Christians to forgive because forgiveness frees you from the trouble caused by another. Forgiveness is a gift and can't be earned. Talk with a reverend if you can't move past the problem.

It is very hard to say. That is one of the ten commandments. I have no idea what the church will think about this as I don't your sect.
