Red palms or palmar erythema can be seen in many conditions. They include allergies due to contact allergens like detergent, food items. Liver cirrhosis and other liver disorders are of the main causes. It might be pregnancy related, infectious, drug reactions and also seen in rheumatoid arthritis and erytromelalgia.It can be small allergy or sign to underlying disease.

The most serious disease in the short term is Scarlet Fever-- which can be fast moving and damage the heart. But, there will be other symptoms. Red palms can also be a simple sign of an allergic reaction or sensitivity to something eaten or touched.

The two likely problems that will cause red palms is either Raynaud's phenonemon (unlikely), or palmar erythema, which is a sign of hepatitis and liver failure.
