Make sure you postion the ball correctly and keep your eye on the uprights and visualize the ball going through the goal post. When you approach the ball make sure your back foot is planted and pointed straight towards the post. Also you should kick the ball with the center of your foot.

Work on your flexibility as that is important. Also become agile with your steps and footwork because without good footwork, you will never be able to kick a football. Then, work on kicking a football, first just try accuracy from close range and then work on your power farther and farther out.

The most important thing you can do to become a great kicker is practice. a lot! That is the main difference between an average kicker and a great kicker. If a kicking camp is available anywhere in your area, go to it. The coaches there can review your technique.

Practice, practice. Figure out whether kicking straight on or soccer-style is more comfortable for you. Most professionals prefer soccer-style, but can do both. Extra Points are more like chipshots and should be the first thing you learn. Once that's done, work on the angle of your kick and you'll be able to kick further and further, honing your accuracy.

Like anything, practise, practise, practise! In addition, make sure that you build up your leg strength, by doing a lot of leg exercises in the gym using weights (i. e. leg press, squats, leg extensions, hamstring extenstions, etc. ). Running in water is also ideal, as it will build up resistance for your legs.

First off, practise! And in doing so, start from about the twenty yard line. Make about 5-7 field goals from this range, and then go back ten yards to the thirty. Repeat what you did at the twenty yard line, and once you do, go back another ten yards from there.

Having a strong enough leg to kick it through the posts is the most important thing. You can be as accurate as you want, but if you can't kick the distance, accuracy doesn't matter. Soccer would be a good side sport to football.
