A simple china with one solid ring or trim around like the Sharon or Brent-wood it is a nice pattern to chose. You can choose some floral pattern such as Old Colonial of Bridge-water but it may be a little too busy. I like simple patterns that are easy to use.

Blue willow is a classic blue and white pattern. Spode's Camilla, Doulton's Cambridge, and Noritake's Elegance in Blue are all lovely. Wedgewood had several beautiful patterns.

There are many wonderful blue and white china patterns. Spode and Wedgwood both make beautiful examples; Spode Italian is an exotic favorite. On the less expensive side, try Target.

Sakura makes a lovely blue and white holiday collection called Winter Frost. Also, Delft dinnerware from Holland is always blue and white.

I spent one year in Asia and a huge design influence there are the cherry blossoms, I would recommend something along those lines.

Some patterns on blue and white China include towns and people on it. I have seen many blue and white China sets at yard sales and they all look great.
