The Pinguicula (butterworts) and Drosera (sundews) genii both have two species that are found in Peru. The Utricularia (bladderworts) genus has nine species that are found in Peru. Bladderworts rely on traps while the other two rely on their sticky leaves and stalks to catch their prey.

The most famous carnivorous plant is the VENUS FLY TRAP. Each flower is in the shape of a pot and as soon as an animal sits on it it closes its petals and digests the insect with its digestive juices. Another plant is famously known as "touch me not".
