The usual cause of dizziness when laying down is a drop in blood pressure. Your blood pressure changes rather quickly when you change positions from standing to laying down. Other causes can be inner ear infections and vertigo. Check with your doctor for positive determination.

Calcium deposits are harmless and can form in the inner ear canals. When you lie down, get up suddently, or tilt your head up, they can go spirally in the labrynth of the cochear. They are harmless and usually resolve themselves in a few days. Continuing? See an ENT.

Some cause of dizziness can be not drinking enough water, and getting too much exercise before bed. Sometimes not eating enough calories or having energy can make a person dizzy.

The major cause of dizziness when you lay down is orthostatic hypotension which means that when you are in a certain position of a long time the circulation of your body tends to be pulled towards the ground causing decreased blood flow to the upper body especially to the brain. Just lay down and stand up slowly, it helps,

The most likely cause is benign positional vertigo, caused by crystals moving in the inner ear. Your doctor can give you a simple exercise for this condition.

Vertigo when laying down, sitting up or changing head position, is caused by a disturbance of inner ear fluid. There is a prescribed medicine to help the dizziness but it will not cure the cause. Therapy will do that but it consists of moving your head in ways that will literally make you nauseous. It may disappear on its own.

A rapid drop in your blood pressure, which may happen when if you lay down quickly, can cause dizziness. Also, you may have water in your ear or something else affecting the inner ear.
