The Titanic was the largest passenger ship at the time. It was manufactured by the White Star ship building company. The theory surrounding the ship was that "not even God could sink her." That theory certainly did not past the test.
Interesting facts: Titanic was equiped with half enough lifeboats to accomodate the number of passengers. The ship was so new that it still had wet paint.
