Draw a map of whatever geographic area you are studying with chalk on the driveway. Quiz them on the area and have them stand in whatever the answer is. Risk is always a fun game. I loved making puzzles of the world when I was younger. Where in the world is carmen sandiego was the best!

My son, 6, loves geography and is very familiar with the locations of the states. This is one: he picks a state and then I give him a direction (North, south, east, west). He picks a state in that direction in relation to the last state mentioned without repeating states.

I recommend "Where in the World." It quizzes players on locations of countries, capitals and other facts, and can be played on multiple levels. Perfect for varying ages and abilities.

A good game to at least get them thinking about all of the different states and capitals is to make flash cards with just the outlines of the state on it. The child must name the state, its capital and any other fun facts (ie big cities, state bird, etc.).
