For Men you would want to be in the range of 6:30 to 7:00 depending on weight classification. For Women you would want to be around the 7:20 to 7:50 range.

College coaches start seriously thinking about recruits with times faster than 6:30 for heavyweight men, under 6:45 for lightweights, and about a minute slower for women of the same classifications.

A decent time for you really depends on your weight, a good time to shoot for would be 7:00 to 7:15 for a 2k.

Though times will vary for everyone, good times for boys 2k rowing are anywhere between 6:20 and 7:20 with girls being a minute or so slower.

Your 2k rowing time should be under seven minutes to have a good time. It's recommended to do a good 20-minute warm-up with increasing intensity, followed by a four-minute all out effort to get peak power. Then continue with the normal workout or routine for maximum efficiency.
