What are some good ideas for window treatments for sliding glass doors?

I would consider drapes,because during the summer they will keep the sun out and provide a more comfortable room and during the winter keep them open during the day while the sun is shinning but close them at night.

A good way to showcase your sliding glass doors is to use a window treatment that extends past the sides of the door. Showing as much door as possible gives the room a very bright appearance as more light shines through. Straight drapes on each side gives an elegant appearance.

Sliding glass doors look nice with themed decals that fit your decor, large decals that re available in the window section that roll on like wall paper. For privacy a form of tinting may work well.

I have sideways hanging blinds on my sliding glass doors. They are wonderful because you cna close them and open them when you want to. Wooden slat blinds are also great.

Many people prefer to use vertical blinds. With or without blinds, adding a valance is a very attractive alternative. This may be a fabric valance using a curtain rod for display. Or make a wooden valance that is either stained or upholstered to match decor.
