The obvious answer is to work in fast food. However, being a summer camp counselor is a good alternative. Also, I would recommend working as an office aide in a business that is of interest.

If you're good with kids, you can babysit. Alternately, you can mow lawns, sell crafts you've made, or do odd jobs for people who don't want to do work around their houses. Ask around; someone probably has a job for you to do and is willing to pay for you to do it.

The first thing you may need to look into is what the laws are in your date. Several states limit the jobs and amount of hours that can be done bu those under the age of 18, and sometimes even more restrictive under 16. AT that age, lawn mowing, paper delivery or other traditional part-time jobs are common.

You should look for seasonal work jobs for your town recreation department. You can also look to work for a local farmer and milk cows, pick potatoes, or work in the hayfields during the summer. This is good work that will instill a good work ethic for later on in life.
