The shortcut for "É" is ALT+0201, for "é" ALT+0233, for "Á" ALT+0193, and for "á" ALT+0225. "ALT+" means that you hold down the ALT key while entering the numbers.

In MS Word, all you have to do is: hold down Shift, hit ', release Shift, hit e. If you're trying to type it in an online form, the easiest way is to copy and paste the letter with the accent from another word (just Google "resume" or better yet a word that's only used in French like "dejeuner").

It does depend on the codepage your operating system is using, and also the word processor software, but holding down the "Alt Gr" key to the right of the spacebar while pressing "e" usually works. If you want the capital form, like Écurie, do the same with the "Caps Lock" on.

The easiest is on a Mac where it's Option-E. On other systems it will depend on the actual keyboard as well as the country profile you've selected. "Insert symbol" usually does the trick in Word.
