Have long, thick hair and are trying a different color from what you have now? Try Feria. It offers more hair dye in package than other brands and works well. For graying hair, use Ms. Clairol or Colorsilk. Both hair dyes cover my resistant grays completely. Colorsilk is inexpensive, too.

The best dyes to use are the nontoxic kind. A list of nontoxic dyes you can buy over the counter include: Herbatint, Light Mountain, Surya Henna, Naturcolor, Rainbow Henna, Morocco Method Simply Pure henna, and Color Me Natural by Aubrey.

Garnier and Oreal are the best brands you can use. Because these products are branded and can give you best results. Another advantage is these brands have less damage on hairs.

If you want to dye your hair yourself, use a trusted brand like L'Oreal or Clairol. If you want to frost or highlight, choose a kit made just for that. Check for permanent coverage or temporary, and choose according to what you require.

If you are trying to cover gray hair, make sure that the product you buy is formulated for that so your coverage will be as even as it can be. Gray is harder to color. I try to use a color in between the gray and my dirty blond so that I get mixture of both highlights and lowlights.

I recommend using Natural Instincts, which is a product Clairol. It is a temporary hair dye, that last about 8 weeks, and it doesn't damage your hair like others do.
