Sketch, brainstorm, draft, re-write, and format. Start with a general storyline, or with specific moments/events you are picturing. Then write it all down. Everything, good or bad. Edit and rewrite!

Start with index cards. Put each thought on a different card, then add details to each card. Arrange cards in an order that makes sense, then put it on paper.

Use your imagination. Picture the choreography. Create the characters and keep notes about their personalities. Use real-life characters to help you in the way they would walk, talk, act and speak. Use double-spacing to make correcting and editing easier. Use new lines for speech phrases so that they stand out. Enjoy yourself.

Scripts have to be written in a specific format. Make sure you get a copy of the current guidelines and try and follow it exactly.
