The largest advantage to a telescoping fly fishing rod is its ease of portability. These types of rods typically compact to under 2 feet in length and can usually fit in most luggage or other storage. Additionally they may offer benefits to those who choose to fish in difficult to reach areas since it is easier to transport.

I guess the only advantage is that it can be collapsed and carried easier. Otherwise they are not very beneficial. I prefer to you a solid rod for its strength, personally.

Well, you will be able to carefully examine what they are all about. You will know what the traits and characteristics of them are. You will be able to view them at a microscopic level. There are many advantages of gaining from this and it is all worth it in the end.

To me, the only advantage of a telescoping fly fishing rod is that it will allow for a more compact footprint when packing. So, when size is an important consideration, give telescoping rods some thought. However, in terms of rod action, which is important to the fly caster, they will not perform as well as the traditional rod.
