What are the best sleds for kids?

I am taking my kids to Colorado soon and would like to get some sleds for them.

The traditional round "shield" sled is by far the best sled, newer fancier sleds have moving parts that break easily, whereas the shield sled is compact and easy to use.

Well if you want to go the cheap route then buy the inner tubes you would use for summer time, they work great and are cost effective. you could buy the flying saucer which plenty of kids enjoy and work very well just as any sled would work for a kid.

I love sledding on inner tubes. So in my opinion, inner tubes would be the best sleds. I do not suggest getting a plastic sled due to the fact that those break easily and therefore can be extremely dangerous. Another good sled could be an inflatible sled or a saucer.

If you intend to go sledding more than once, I suggest to invest in a wodden slede, cause they are far better. Otherwise buy a plastic one or rent one.

Flexible flyer steel runner snow sleds are very good sleds for ages 5 and up. The steering on the sled is very smooth. This is a great gift for children who are into sledding, as these sleds go fast and are very fun.
