What are the best uses for hydrogen?

The properties of hydrogen allow it to be used for many purposes. The most well known use is as a fuel. Hydrogen is highly combustible, and it's use as a fuel produces few harmful emissions. It must, however, be stored under immense pressure in order to make it's use practical.

Hydrogen is used in many industries including energy and semiconductors. Hydrogen is used in petroleum refineries. Rarer forms of hydrogen are used in nuclear fission and sometimes fusion bomb production.
