You can try rubbing alcohol to help dry the rash, and maybe soak some Jewelweed stems and leaves in the alcohol for a while before applying it to the rash. Jewelweed is known to reduce itching in poison ivy as well as insect bites and other itching rashes.

Clean the infected area with a gentle cleanser. I suggest using paper towels and disposing of them immediately to avoid spreading the infection. Next, apply calamine lotion.

Chlorine or rubbing alochol have been known to help to dry out a rash as a result of poison ivy or poison oak. If those do not work you may try an oatmeal bath soak or even aloe vera based lotion.

Start out by giving the person with poison ivy a bath in tea tree oil, just a few drops in the bath water. Continue this treatment for several days, the rash should start to clear up in a couple of days and by completely gone in 7 days.

The best way is to get extra strength hydrocordisone lotion and apply it frequently. It may be stubborn and tak a while but be diligent.

You would need to soak in some oatmeal that helps soothe the itching and all. Then what you should do is find some calamine lotion and dab onto the area that is affected when it starts to bother you.
